CD release shows take over local venues

You may already know about the Broken Spoke/Flumps dual CD release show at Venue 515 this coming Saturday night. (You can read our Broken Spoke interview here.) But those aren't the only new releases being celebrated in the next couple days.

On Friday, as in tonight, local metallions Another Shade of Hate celebrates its first, full-length CD at the Zodiac, with Try Redemption, Hero Kid and We Are All Destined to Fail sharing the bill. Given the fact that ASoH has been together nearly six years — and has shared stages with numerous national touring bands — it should be a pretty momentous event.

Then on Saturday, the Black Sheep is hosting what's billed as a "4-way CD release show," featuring the fairly brutal Maelstroms, along with Warrington Station, Kodiak, and Queen Anne's Revenge.

Did you know local CDs make excellent stocking stuffers? It's true. Meanwhile, here, for your viewing and listening pleasure, is Another Shade of Hate:
