Gearing up for next year's sister-city celebration with Fujiyoshida in Japan, the Colorado Springs Diversity Forum has put out a call to artists to design kimono-shaped panels. The pieces will be auctioned off at next August's Fire Festival, which honors 50 years of sister-city partnership.

Interested? (Warning: It does take some sponsorship money to get started.) Click here.

Other events during the Fire Festival include a Fujiyoshida textile exhibit at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum, a ceremonial planting of cherry trees, and performances and exhibits at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
