Here’s a headline you don’t find in your inbox every day: "ATMOSPHERE HEADLINE FIRST EVER WINTER CONCERT AT RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE"

And the same goes for this subhead: "GRAMMY AWARD WINNING COMMON AND FELLOW RHYMESAYERS ARTISTS GRIEVES & BUDO TO OPEN"

According to the puzzling press release that just showed up in my inbox, the inaugural “Winter on the Rocks” event will be held on January 27, 2012, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

You should also know that tickets go on sale tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster and the Ogden Theatre in Denver.

However, due to the Indy's advanced sleuthing skills (we follow Atmosphere's label, Rhymesayers, on Twitter), we're pleased to let readers know that you can buy presale tickets right now. Just go to this website and use the password WOTR.

You can also find more details at this Facebook event page.

What’s unknown, as yet, is how many ambulances will be on hand to treat cases of hypothermia.

Needless to say, I just checked the calendar and it's not April Fools Day. On the somewhat sane side, Atmosphere did sell out this same venue this summer, and having Common on the bill is huge. Also, Atmosphere does hail from Minnesota, so there’s that, too.

"We're amped to play Red Rocks' first ever winter concert this January,” quoth Atmosphere emcee Slug in the announcement. “I need to find me some fingerless gloves."

While you're pondering all this, you can also read our August interview with Slug here. Then scroll down to watch Atmosphere’s starkly stunning “The Last to Say” video, as well as Common’s seriously eye-catching “Ghetto Dreams,” featuring a guest appearance from Nas.

Don't forget to bundle up.
