Last Friday, the El Paso County Democratic Party thought it had secured national TV talker Ed Schultz for its upcoming fundraiser. But surprise! Apparently Schultz didn't do his homework before accepting the gig, and had no idea that his employer, MSNBC, has some policy against its blatantly partisan talk-show ranters appearing at political fundraisers.
To do so, I guess, would just come across as being too biased.
(Sidenote, if you Google "Ed Schultz slams" you'll find that that's how he spends a lot of his time — slamming.)
So this morning, we got another press release from the Peak Dems informing us that they have now secured trusty ol' Jim Hightower as the event's keynote speaker.
