Donate clothing for art

The Galleries of Contemporary Art want your gently used clothes for its May exhibit.

A similar work by Charzewski.

  • A similar work by Charzewski.

Artist Jarod Charzewski's work will be an installation that looks like a hilly landscape, made from folded layers of clothing atop a skeleton of wood and cardboard. The piece "explores ideas of North American consumer culture," says GOCA's website.

To build this work, GOCA needs about 3,000 articles of clothing, which can be dropped off at either GOCA 121 or 1420 or made available for pick up (larger donations only, contact gallery@uccs.edu to arrange.)

Following the exhibit, the clothing (which will be unharmed) will be donated to "needy UCCS families and local non-profits."
