At the CRA Expo on Sunday, we ran into Troy and Shawna Uehling refilling their table full of mini bundt cakes. While we got a chance to try a few, that opportunity's about to come to the masses — on two wheels.
The Bundt Box is coming, baby, and it's coming fast. Hailing from the custom-order-and-delivery operation the couple started last year, Bundt Appétit, the Box will likely carry four to eight of the bakery's 12 potential flavors.
"Our Bundts are smaller than a contemporary cupcake but larger than the 'mini' cupcakes out there and much more moist," writes Troy in an e-mail to the Indy. "You can see what they look like on our website. ... We sell them for $1.50 each or $15 for a dozen (we may be raising those prices slightly if food prices keep rising) and take credit cards or cash."
If you just can't wait until the Box burbles your way, you can call or order online. In about a month you'll find the bundts bumbling around the downtown and north areas of town. Check its Facebook page for locations.
In the meantime, just consider this spicy throwdown from the couple's website: "[We have] the moistest of cakes with the freshest ingredients that today’s cupcakes just don’t match. While cupcakes are attractive on the outside, they leave you a bit unsatisfied and tickle ones sweet tooth only temporarily."
Your move, silly, little unsatisfactory small-time tooth-ticklers.
