Friday, while researching for the IDEA Space's upcoming show Puppets, Politics and Pop Music: Taiwanese and Chinese Puppet Theatre in the 20th Century, which is sure to be fabulous, I came across this video.
While it probably has little to do with traditional-meets-controversial Taiwanese and Chinese puppet theater profiled in the show, I couldn't help but to totally succumb to how charming this is. From the children's squeals of delight to the pretty masterful puppet work (if you ask me), I had to share it.
I liked the beginning sequence between the turtle and the crane, as well as the monkeys, about eight minutes in. (Yes, I did watch the whole thing.)
So now you can probably imagine a fairly brisk e-mail correspondence between the women (and a male or two) of the Indy edit department with subject lines like, "SQUEEE!", "EEEEP!" and "I must *SQUEEZE* him!"
