Last week, we brought you word that Tucanos Brazilian Grill would open a Colorado Springs location April 5, and stage a charity event to benefit a few local nonprofits. Today we learned who wants to play.
The restaurant "recently announced its Charity Partner Benefit Campaign in which three local non-profits — Kids On Bikes, LifeQuest Transitions and UpaDowna — will participate in a friendly competition in which Colorado Springs residents will be able to select Tucanos’ Grand Opening Charity Partner," reads a press release.
"During the month of April, the three selected organizations will compete for the most votes — online and on-location — for a chance to win 75-percent of the proceeds from the Grand Opening celebration on April 26. The groups placing second and third will split the remaining proceeds. The caveat: online votes count as one, while in-restaurant picks automatically count as two votes."
Vote as you will, then attend the $25 grand opening/fundraiser where people will rock to live Brazilian music, enjoy native dance and eat "unlimited portions of beef, poulty [sic], seafood, vegetables, and sweet pineapple."
Find me there — I'll be the one covered in abacaxi and beef.
