As we reported today, 5th Congressional District candidate and bank owner Robert Blaha is a fan of Peter Schweizer, the author of Do as I Say (Not as I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy and Throw Them All Out.
When I met him for an interview, there was a copy of Throw Them All Out sitting on his desk, a little worn and bookmarked, obviously his book of the moment.
"He makes a pretty compelling case for why things are the way they are," Blaha told me. "The graft, the kickbacks."
Well, Blaha is in luck. According to a press release, Schweizer will be in the Pikes Peak region on May 12 for the Peak Freedom Festival.
For all you liberty-lovers out there, you'll remember that last year's festival featured the Independence Institute's Jon Caldara and Wall Street Journal editorial writer Stephen Moore, as well as seminars on "The Moral Basis of Capitalism" and "Antidiscriminationism in America: A Marxist Dialectic."
Riveting stuff, no doubt.
Last year's fest was hosted by the Limited Government Forum and The Center for the Study of Government and the Individual.
As last year, the Cheyenne Mountain Resort is the locale, but other details apparently haven't been ironed out quite yet.
We'll keep you posted.
