Denver-based infused products manufacturer Dixie Elixirs & Edibles, and all its "intellectual property, research and development, formulas and recipes associated with medical cannabis brand" has been acquired by San Diego company Medical Marijuana, Inc., which plans to take the brand national.
"Dixie is very excited to bring our brand and products to a national stage by partnering our intellectual property with Medical Marijuana, Inc.'s vision to be the world's premier cannabis and hemp industry innovators," says Dixie CEO Tripp Keber in a press release. "This is also an exciting day for patients around the country who will now potentially have access to a formula and product that can provide high-quality consistency for those in need of the healing properties of non-smokable medical marijuana."
The two will form a marketing and licensing company called Red Dice Holdings. The portion that holds all legal paperwork from local authorities and the Colorado Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division will remain a separate entity, licensing everything the parent company needs.
"Our newly formed LLC, Red Dice Holdings, is one of the many innovations and advancements that we plan to bring to the medical marijuana industry," says MMJ Inc. president Michael Llamas, "and we look forward to working with Tripp and the entire Dixie team to build a global and sustainable future for patients and caregivers around the world."
For background, Dixie Elxirs offers six product lines consisting over 40 MMJ products like drinks, capsules and edibles. The release states the company's products can be found in more than 400 Colorado medical marijuana centers.
