John Ingold at the Denver Post reports that the Colorado Senate has given final approval to Senate Bill 117, which would set a limit of 5 nanograms of THC per milliliter of blood.
The 18-17 vote — which criss-crossed party lines — means the bill will now move to the Colorado House. A similar measure passed the House easily last year before being defeated in the Senate. With the Senate's approval this morning, coming less than a day after the bill appeared to be defeated, things look considerably brighter for the bill this year.
That said, Ingold also points out that for this (or any other bill) to make it to Gov. John Hickenlooper's desk, it's going to have to be finalized in the next week, before the legislative session ends May 9.
