We're sure you're already aware of Saturday's Free Comic Book Day, which we listed in a Seven Days to Live section this week.

But in case the prospect of getting a free comic isn't enough, Matt Campbell, a comic book author from Colorado Springs, will be at Escape Velocity Comics (19 E. Bijou St., 578-8847) giving out 25 copies of the limited-edition signed and numbered first issue of his comic Mythica. Only 100 are in print.

Campbell will also be giving free art lessons during his time at the storeā€š which only makes sense, too, considering Campbell also moonlights as a comic book art teacher at Bemis School of Art.

Mythica is a comic series set in World War I about a group of people given special abilities to fight the invasion of demonic forces. Campbell puts up a new page of the comic every Monday on his website mattcampbellart.com.

If your Saturday is already booked but you still want to meet Campbell, he'll also have a booth at Denver's Comic Con, June 15-17.
