A sneak peek at Art on the Streets

Posted By on Fri, Jun 1, 2012 at 2:19 PM

The 14th Annual Art on the Streets exhibit opens June 15, with 12 new works chosen by local art luminaries (and husband-and-wife team) Jim Raughton and Kathy Loo.

According to a press release sent today by the Downtown Partnership, nine of the artists chosen this year have never participated in Art on the Streets before. More notably, since 1999 Art on the Streets has installed nearly 200 works downtown, over 50 of which have been purchased for permanent installation.

Here's what to expect this year, and if you want to attend the celebration and awards ceremony (where cash prizes will be given to the top three pieces, as chosen by Raughton and Loo), RSVP by June 11 to 886-0088. It takes place June 15, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and will be held at the Pikes Peak Center.
