Collectibles are pouring in at All Breed Rescue and Training (ABRT), a local nonprofit that places shelter dogs in foster homes, for its 15th annual Dog Days Garage Sale and Bake Sale. Sara Simon, office manager, says that tables of M&M swag will be among the items up for grabs this year. Everyone at work will be jealous if you bring one of these lunchboxes to the office:
You have until 8 tonight to drop off gently used items — clothes, furniture, pet supplies, whatever you can part with — for the garage sale that will start Friday at 20 Mount View Lane, Suites B and C. Before you arrive, call 264-6460 so someone can help unload your donations, which are all tax deductible.
The sale will be Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All funds raised will cover costs like rent and vet bills, ultimately benefitting both the dogs and the organization. "All the funds go towards keeping us running," says Simon. "It really all benefits the rescue dogs and the training dogs."
If the only items you can spare are in your pantry, you can still participate in the bake sale that will happen during all three days. Just e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org with what you'd like to make, roll up your sleeves and get busy.
