Coming soon: Third Friday Artwalk Weekend and Clayfest

Posted By on Mon, Sep 10, 2012 at 5:32 PM

Manitou Springs is gearing up for one hell of an arts weekend Sept. 21-23, days that will host Clayfest — postponed due to the Waldo Canyon Fire — and an upgraded Third Friday Artwalk Weekend.

Manitou will be even busier than usual next weekend.

  • Manitou will be even busier than usual next weekend.

While Clayfest will only take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22 in Soda Springs Park, the neighboring galleries will host demonstrations, guest artists, receptions and live music the entire weekend, running from 5-8 p.m. on Friday night and going from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. In addition to that, area high school students will draw out designs in sidewalk chalk up and down the avenue (it's a competition, and details are still in the works.)

Here are some highlights to watch out for:

• Friday, Sept. 21

Jack Risley demo at Fare Bella Gallery
Jennifer Farmer felting demo at Black Cat Books and safron of Manitou
