Last week, we stopped by Mike Boyle's second Colorado Springs Fall Food Festival, which features a variety of restaurants offering tastings at the Academy Hotel.
You may know the man from, well, the Mike Boyle Restaurant Show on AM stations 710 and 1460. He invited the Indy to swing by and grab a few photos, which we did. What we didn't do was take any good pictures in the dark lighting of the hotel atrium. But trust us: There were life-changing shots of chopped salad from Outback Steakhouse; great habanero hummus from My Big Fat Greek Restaurant; and King's Chef Diner owner Gary Geiser showing off the jarred stuff.
As for how it went, here's Boyle: "We had 35 restaurants and food service establishments opposed to 28 last year," he writes in an e-mail. "Last year's event was attended by a little over four hundred people and this year's had almost 600. There were raves about the food, not only the quality, but the portions. People also like The Academy Hotel and the way it is laid out for the event, and the atrium has a nice feel also."
