From the listings desk: Here are a few events that didn't reach us in time to make it into the paper, but were too cool to let slip by.

• Jay Shinn: Artist Talk & Catalogue Release, a chance to hear more from this exhibiting artist (who we wrote about here) and buy a copy of the show catalogue, co-published by Shinn and the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. • "Watch Us Grow: Mapping the Historical Geography of Colorado Springs," an illustrated lecture on how the Springs has grown over time, based on expansion factors such as industry, rail roads and land uses. • Erotic Impressions: Tattoo and Body Painting Competition, an adult affair with prizes awarded for top tattoos (categories include "Most Unusual" and "Sexiest Male/Female"), body painting and fashion (with categories for "Surreal Fantasy" and "Carnival.") $3, or free with a donation of a nonperishable food item for Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado or clothes or jackets for Bill's Kids.
