Today, the Business of Art Center announced that its gallery manager and curator Liz Szabo will be leaving, effective immediately.
BAC spokesperson, and Indy contributor, Rhonda Van Pelt writes, "Her shoes will be difficult to fill as she has been a tremendous asset to the BAC in many ways. We wish her great success in her endeavors, especially in getting back to her artwork."
The BAC staff and board are now seeking a replacement for Szabo, who worked there for four years. They wouldn't offer any other comment at this time.
In other news, the BAC is looking to change its name. Van Pelt says that next year marks its 25-year anniversary, and a name change would "reflect our expanded mission as a multi-purpose, multi-media community center." They'll ask for public submissions in a contest that will begin sometime soon and run through the end of the year.
