Sadly, there are no Colorado Springs artists who've been accepted as yet. In fact, the lone Box State applicant on the initial list is Denver's Churchill, who signed to A&M's Octone Records imprint earlier this year.
Of course, 90 percent of the acts who'll play the world's most famous music confab — which will run from March 12-17 in more than 100 Austin, Texas venues — have yet to be announced.
In the meantime, some of SXSW 2013's showcasing artists you may already be familiar with include Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, pioneering punk poet John Cooper Clarke, New York avant-indie-rockers Guards, New Orleans' rootsy Dash Rip Rock, UK new ravers the Klaxons, Ninja Tune electronic dance artists Coldcut and Amon Tobin, regular Front Range BBQ performer Pokey LaFarge and, for fans of British Invasion rock, the Animals' Eric Burdon and a reunited Zombies.
You can check out the complete list here. And, while you're at it, why not take a journey into sound with this vintage vid for Coldcut's classic remix of Eric B. & Rakim's "Paid in Full"?
