Are you a citizen at large with some free time on your hands?

According to a press release from the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments, or PPACG, the nonprofit organization is looking for a resident of El Paso or Teller counties who wants to sit on its Community Advisory Board.

The only qualifications, other than residency, are that you "must have a sincere interest in serving the community, have the time to review pertinent materials and attend meetings of the committee." Plus, you will have time to meet once a month, on the last Wednesday, for a couple hours.

Does that sound like you? If so, you can apply by sending a letter and résumé to: Community Advisory Committee, PPACG, 15 S. Seventh St., Colorado Springs, CO 80905. Address the letter to the attention of Jacquelyn Puett.

Colorado Springs, CO, November 19, 2012 — The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) is seeking a volunteer to serve as a citizen-at‑large representative on its Community Advisory Committee (CAC). Members must have a sincere interest in serving the community, have the time to review pertinent materials and attend meetings of the committee, and be a resident of El Paso or Teller counties. The committee meets on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the PPACG Building at 14 South Chestnut Street in Colorado Springs.

To apply, send a letter of application along with a brief resume of experience emphasizing community involvement by December 14, 2012, to: Community Advisory Committee, Attention: Jacquelyn Puett, PPACG, 15 South 7th Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80905. PPACG does not discriminate on the basis of an applicant’s color, race, national origin, gender, age, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other basis made unlawful by any applicable law.

The CAC advises the PPACG Board of Directors on regional issues directly related to the mission and programs of the PPACG as brought before it by PPACG and by citizens and citizens’ groups. The committee also assists the PPACG in keeping the general public informed on regional plans and programs.
