City Gov Eco forum for Council hopefuls March 4

On March 4, city residents can find out where the 24 candidates running for Colorado Springs City Council stand on environmental issues.
Or at least they can find out from those who show up at an environmental City Council forum being sponsored by the Trails and Open Space Coalition and Catamount Institute.
The forum begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at Stargazers Theater, 10 S. Parkside Drive.
Other supporting organizations for the event include Rocky Mountain Field Institute, Sierra Club, Energy Resource Center, Clean Cities Coalition, Green Cities Coalition, Colorado Springs Citizens for Community Rights and the Independent.
Some of the issues that are bound to come up are the city's reliance on coal for most of its power, the city's pending oil and gas regulations that would allow hydraulic fracturing within the city, and how the city should cope with its stormwater drainage-project backlog.
Voters will elect six district Councilors at the April 2 election, which is being conducted entirely by mail. For voter registration information, go here.
