Colorado Springs Together Waldo Canyon Fire Arbor Day
  • Ella's Dad

If you're one of the families who lost their home in the Waldo Canyon Fire or have another affinity to the part of the city that burned, here's a lineup of activities you might want to participate in.

First, at 6:30 tonight (Wednesday), Mayor Steve Bach will make an appearance at the Colorado Springs Together office, 6840 Centennial Blvd., for the Mountain Shadows Community Association (MSCA) annual meeting.

According to the CST website, you can expect desserts, exhibits and information on park renovation and a memorial, and an opportunity to interact with your neighbors and many elected officials.

Tomorrow afternoon, a group of volunteers from Optum will canvass the neighborhood to pick up trash in a cleanup effort. CST advises the group will be wearing white with orange bandanas. And Vantage Homes and High Country Homes will allow the volunteers to dump the trash in their construction dumpsters.

Saturday is Arbor Day, and a big day it will be in Mountain Shadows Park. Go to this link for more information on Arbor Day events.
