It wasn’t that long ago that local blues-rock favorite Jake Loggins
had announced his retirement, even though the rest of us insisted on calling it a hiatus.
As it turns out, the rest of us were right. In addition to fronting his own band, the guitarist is part of the more collaborative Justus League
, who are pretty much everywhere this week.
The relatively new band — which combines the talents of Loggins, Austin Johnson, Sean Pyrtle, Matthew Taylor
and Dean Woodward
— will be live-in-the-studio on KRCC
today at noon, followed by a 5:30-to-7:30 p.m. performance at Bancroft Park's Paint the Town Blue
Then on Friday, Loggins and Justus League will be playing consecutive sets at a free Stargazers
show in celebration of both Jake's birthday and the band's debut CD.
Be sure to tune in, drop in, or both.
