Water features to dry up

All good things come to an end, and so it is with the city's water features. After Labor Day weekend, Uncle Wilbur will go dry, as will the Julie Penrose Fountain in America the Beautiful Park and Deerfield Hills Spray Ground.

Sad.

Anyway, here's the final schedule, according to the city, until next year:

Uncle Wilbur Fountain
Acacia Park, 115 East Platte Avenue
Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday (August 26-30): 3 to 6 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, Monday (August 31 - September 2): Noon to 6:00 p.m.

Julie Penrose Fountain
America the Beautiful Park, 126 Cimino Drive
Hours of Operation
Monday - Friday (August 26-30): CLOSED
Saturday, Sunday, Monday (August 31 - September 2): 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Deerfield Hills Spray Ground
Deerfield Hills Community Center, 4290 Deerfield Hills Road
Hours of Operation
Monday - Thursday (August 26-29): CLOSED
Friday (August 30): 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday, Monday (August 31 - September 2): 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

About the Fountains
· Fountains are subject to closure due to adverse weather conditions such as high winds, severe rain and thunderstorms, or temperatures below 60 degrees
· Fountains are also subject to closure due to technical difficulties and/or emergency maintenance repairs
· Fountains are supervised by trained CPR/First Aid staff members and/or lifeguard instructors
