"Just pretty much a well-dressed kid, looks like he had enough money to feed himself," says shift manager Shaun Dungan
of yesterday's incident. "Just pocketed our giant tip jar and just walked out completely."
Well, first, the video shows, he looked around before jacking the lot. Not a great way to make an impression on any potential employers.
"He had an application in his hand; it shows on the video that he puts the application into his backpack," says Dungan. "But that’s what his ploy was: He asked for an application, sat right next to the register, waited for someone to walk away, and threw the tip jar and his application into his backpack."
As far as the effect on the restaurant: "Nothing too big, but it’s just something that’s solely for the employees, the tips, and that’s why [store owner Richard] Skorman
’s kind of upset about it, because we earn those tips. So, hopefully we can make him famous. That’s what we’re trying to do."
