September is shaping up to be a busy month for food and drink events, not least because of Local Food Week,
spanning the 14th through 22nd. That worthwhile annual arrangement of sustainability-minded meals and events will feature everything from an Urban Homestead Tour
on the 21st and 22nd to Pikes Peak Urban Gardens
' Garlic Fest
, also on the 21st and the Foodopoly
lecture and book signing on Sept. 19.
But outside of LFW, here's a look at some other meals you may wish to be mindful of:
• Tonight from 6 to 9 p.m., as well as during those same hours on Tues., Sept. 24 and Wed., Sept. 25, Full Circle Cuisine
continues its pop-up dinner programming
with seasonally and locally inspired à la carte menus: "drinks and a snack, or just dessert, order what you like."
Chef Kevin Campbell
will be joined once again by such guest chefs as the Meat Locker's Mark Henry
(tonight) throughout the month. Reservations are recommended at 482-8082. Here's a look at tonight's menu:
• The Colorado Springs Independent Restaurant Cooperative
hosts its next dinner at the Warehouse Restaurant & Gallery
at 6 p.m. on Tues., Sept. 17. Three small plates paired with three wine or beer samplings costs $39 plus tax/tip. Here's a look at that menu:
And prior to that dinner, the Warehouse will also hold its own Wines of Tuscany
dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 for $60, all inclusive. Here's a look at those five courses:
• At 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 15, The Margarita at PineCreek
holds a family-style Farm to Table Harvest Dinner as a Colorado Farm and Art Market Fundraiser. There'll also be beer, wine and live music, as well as a silent auction for the $75 per-seat cost. But what gets our attention is the roasted lamb, hog and goat on display, in addition to gazpacho, ceviche and fresh salads. Call 598-8667 to reserve a space.
• The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey
holds its annual winemaker's dinner in conjunction with the Royal Gorge Route Railroad
at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27. Tickets to ride the train and enjoy an eight-course, wine-paired meal are $115, all inclusive. Call 719/276-4000 for reservations. Here's a look at the menu:
