Newly elected Colorado Senator Bernie Herpin tells the Indy that he will be sworn in Oct. 3.

Herpin, a former City Councilor, will replace Senate President John Morse, who was recalled by voters on Sept. 10. George Rivera, who was elected to replace Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo in the same election, apparently will also be sworn in on that date.

The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Senate Chambers at the state Capitol.

The plans clear up confusion over when the swearing in will take place.  Giron and Morse were the first lawmakers recalled under the state's 100-year-old recall law.
