The victors of the 2014 CRA Expo

Posted By on Mon, Mar 10, 2014 at 7:19 PM

As in previous years, I was honored to cook alongside some of the Springs' finest chefs yesterday at the Colorado Restaurant Association Pikes Peak Chapter 19th annual Food and Wine Expo, held at the Broadmoor.

I was the media helper for chef Nate Dirnberger's team from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which included the talented Mr. Andrew "Shaggy" Warren.

My colleague Bryce Crawford served as one of the judges for the bartender competition, which ran alongside the 10-team chef's battle.

Since we were both quite busy with our respective duties, we didn't do much note-taking, but here's a handful of pics that capture the action and some of the day's winners, from this list:

Best Sapphire Bombay East Gin Cocktail - Christa Hinkle from Blue Star

Best Gentleman Jack Whiskey Cocktail and Overall Winner - Robert Leavey of the Broadmoor Golf Club

Best Appetizer - Brother Luck from Brother Luck Street Eats

Best Entree - Tyler Peoples from The Warehouse

Best Dessert - Larissa Vendola and Amy Fairbanks from Garden of the Gods Gourmet

Best Overall - Tyler Peoples from The Warehouse
