As a new dispute erupts over who's in the driver's seat on City for Champions, the leading business group, the Colorado Springs Regional Business Alliance, issued a statement today in full support for the tourism venture.

According to a news release, the RBA's board of directors voted unanimously Feb. 27 to "fully support" C4C projects, and is ready to engage the organization's resources, namely the RBA's:

• Sports Economy Team
• Government Affairs Advisory Council
• Military Affairs Council (MAC)

The association is also offering to have its Business Alliance Finance Council review the financial plans of each project, to ensure the optimization and viability of each project.

As we said, five Council members — Keith King, Helen Collins, Joel Miller, Andy Pico and Don Knight — and Dennis Hisey, chairman of the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners, think Mayor Steve Bach should be more collaborative, which we reported about here.

From 4 to 6 p.m. today, C4C organizers hold their second public meeting at the Regional Building Department, 2880 International Circle.

There was to be an organizers board meeting, but that fell through, according to county spokesman Dave Rose, who writes in a release: "The C4C Core Team meeting which was scheduled at 3PM today has been canceled due to scheduling conflicts."
