Public meetings about the city's tourism venture, City for Champions, continue next week with another monthly meeting.

It will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Regional Development Center, 2880 International Circle, and promises the following:

• Elected officials and representatives from each of the four projects will speak and answer questions. Those include the Air Force Academy's visitors center, University of Colorado at Colorado Springs sports medicine center, downtown Olympic museum and hall of fame, and downtown stadium.

• Updates will be provided for questions raised at the April 15 meeting.

Questions and comments are welcome, and you can also sign up to get involved.

The $250 million package will be funded with $120.5 million in state sales tax rebates, donations and local tax money.

The C4C website, for which there's a link above, has various "news" reports but failed to include our explanatory piece that ran on May 7. You can find it here.

In fact, oddly, the website promotes various Gazette stories presented under a "By City for Champions" byline. Though probably a repeated error in posting, irony will likely be noted among those who believe there's collusion between project backers, like the Broadmoor crowd and developers, and the Gazette, which is owned by Broadmoor billionaire Phil Anschutz and has championed C4C on its editorial page.

Anyway, we appreciate that the City for Champions folk didn't co-opt our piece as their own.

In other news: According to the museum's website, there's a shortlist of candidates for architecture, exhibit design and other jobs.
