S.P.Q.R., 17B E. Bijou St., 633-4240, themodbo.com. Nina Peterson and Korri Oxford, a dual show from these two painters. Peterson's work explores her personal version of a bildungsroman, or the story of a youth's alienation, trials and eventual reintegration into society. Oxford's work also looks into feelings of "isolation in a social world," and notions of the overlooked, i.e. "the ugly and understated." July 4-25. Opening reception, Fri., July 4, 5:30 p.m. to midnight.

July 11 will also usher in a batch of new shows with fun opening receptions; watch out for those in next week's Indy.
