I've never known who looked at beauty pageants and thought, "I need to get me some of that," but if you're out there, then here's the deal: The Colorado division of the Mrs. America Pageant system is looking for a "Mrs. Colorado Springs."
That's right — you've got to be hitched. (Sorry, all the single ladies
, all the single ladies, all the single ladies, all the single ladies.)
"Once selected, the community representative will then advance on to compete in the Mrs. Colorado Pageant to be held on April 18, 2015 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, in downtown Denver," reads a release. "City and county titleholders will compete to win over 25,000.00 in prizes, one of which includes, an all expenses paid trip to the nationally televised Mrs. America Pageant."
All you have to be is a resident of the state, a U.S. citizen, legally married and at least 18-years-old. And: "While beauty is a key element in the competition, Mrs. Colorado contestants are also urged to voice their opinions on marriage and important issues of the day."
Considering how well spoken pageant types are known to be, that should be interesting. More information is here
