Cripple Creek's culinary battle

It's the third year that Cripple Creek's Wildwood Casino is hosting its Culinary Challenge, benefitting Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.

Observe the finals from 3 to 5 on Saturday, October 24th, in the Teller Room. 

I'll be there, co-judging with chef Justin Werner, winner of Food Network’s show Chopped in 2012, plus Jen Lennon, host of Moms Everyday on KKTV, and Care & Share's CEO Lynne Telford. Chris and Nomi from RXP Mornings with Chris & Nomi will emcee the event.

Appetizers

“We’ve gathered a talented group of home cooks to compete in our 3rd Annual Culinary Challenge, and we can’t wait to see what they’re going to cook up for us,” said Kevin Werner, vice president and general manager at Wildwood Casino. “We’re excited to see the creative recipes the contestants have developed, and we’re ready for some friendly competition, all to benefit a worthy cause.”

The first place winners from each category will receive $500 and a Stay & Play package; second place winners will receive $250 and a Stay & Play package; third place winners will receive $100 and a Stay & Play package; the grand prize winner will receive an additional $500. All winners will be featured in Wildwood Casino’s Care and Share menu, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the charity.
