On Friday, Mayor Suthers and Colorado Springs Fire Chief Chris Riley handed the keys to a 1995 brush truck to Casas Grandes mayor Baca Tena and the town's fire chief.

Casas Grandes, a suburb of Colorado Springs' Sister City Nuevo Casas Grandes, is located in the northern Mexican state of Chihuahua.

From a release:
The Colorado Springs Fire Department is proud to donate a 1995 GMC Type 6 Brush Truck to Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico – a village suburb of Colorado Springs’ Sister City Nuevo Casas Grandes. This is the eighth fire truck gifted from local fire departments to Nuevo Casas Grandes and surrounding communities through the efforts of Colorado Springs Sister Cities International (CSSCI) and Colorado Springs Rotary. Colorado Springs and Nuevo Casas Grandes have been sister cities since 1996. Over the years, CSSCI and Rotary have donated school buses, fire equipment, computers and other school supplies to support Nuevo Casas Grandes. The two cities have also enjoyed many cultural and art exchanges.
Colorado Springs also has sister cities relationships with Ancient Olympia, Greece; Bankstown, Australia; Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan; Fujiyoshida, Japan; Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico; and Smolensk, Russia.
