Territory Days

Territory Days

It isn't difficult to imagine a time when dusty dirt roads stretched through Old Colorado City. A time when leather-vested citizens tipped their cowboy hats at each other during morning strolls to the various saloons, dry goods stores and banks. This Memorial Day weekend, head to Territory Days (shopoldcoloradocity.com) in Old Colorado City to help commemorate the first capital of Colorado Territory with food, live bands and staged "Old West" gunfights. The fun started Saturday morning and runs through Monday, opening at 10 a.m. each day. — Miguel Bustamante
