Improv Colorado

Improv Colorado

You're going to have to wait until July to see the back-from-the-dead Whose Line Is It Anyway? on TV, but you can get a dose of live improv humor tonight at 7:37 when Improv Colorado, our very own comedy troupe, takes the stage at Venue 515 (515 Manitou Ave., Manitou Springs, improvcolorado.com). The five members — which include, per their Native American names, Stands With a Grunt and Laughs at Own Jokes — will play Whose Line-style games that are all family-friendly, for $8 to $10 a ticket. Should the Colin Mochrie in you want to learn the ropes, attend an 11 a.m. Improv Workshop today, for $20. All experience levels welcome; contact the group directly at improvcolorado@gmail.com to sign up. — Edie Adelstein

An Exquisite Corpse

art

Heard of the game "Consequences"? Or "Exquisite Corpse"? You have. You and your surrealist friends have folded a piece of paper into segments, and you've each drawn part of a figure, without seeing what everyone else has done. Then you've unfolded it and admired your weird creation. (And probably ate/drank/smoked something mysterious.) No? Well, that game is the conceit behind Senior Show 2013 now at GOCA 1420 (1420 Austin Bluffs Pkwy., galleryuccs.org), wherein upcoming University of Colorado at Colorado Springs graduates (including new Business of Art Center curator/gallery manager Patrick Bohnen) show their stuff. It's free to visit, and up through May 25, Wednesdays through Saturdays. — Edie Adelstein
