I have sent a letter to the Region Director at CDOT supporting "proposed CDOT use of RPP funds to provide a planning study for Colorado ave in no man's land" the city will work with the county and Manitou Springs in addressing the needs of that corridor.

Thanks for your support Willie. A little nerve rattling being my first forum but survived and appreciated the opportunity to introduce myself and meet so many of my neighbors. I have always lived in district 3, not Denver and Manitou like my opponent has. I love my community and are not the candidate who believes what is good for the city is good for district 3". District 3 has very specific strengths and challenges and needs someone who knows the neighborhoods and the issues. I have been preparing for this seat for 2 years by becoming educated and developing strong relationships with community leaders and citizens. I am the candidate who has met with experts, gone on tours, sat in meetings, read materials, participated on boards, and has consisently shown interest in City Council for years. If you want someone with strong leadership, common sense, belief in good business practices, and is ethical, your only choice is LISA CZELATDKO.

My opponent should be concerned with the unfunded liabilities facing our city. Liabilities are "obligations that the city legally must repay. Unfunded liabilities are obligations that the city doesn’t have the funds to repay. As unfunded liabilities grow past the point where the city can repay them, one of two things will happen: 1) the city would default on the obligation, and/or 2) the city would have to file for bankruptcy."

Ralph, this work is being done by an artist who has done very successful pieces around Colorado Springs. The project is currently in process and shouldnt be subjected to your criticism. How about mentioning that the artist was chosen locally. He is working when so many others arent. What about the ingenuity of using a building that had nothing but graffiti on it and now can be a highly visible, proud piece of artwork. What about that this project shows the beginnings of the city working in partnerships. USOC paid for the design, Valadmir Jones has donated their talents in securing a local artist and the supervision of this project. Hey heres a suggestion. Grab a cold drink and walk it over to the artist and tell him what a great job he is doing considering the circumstances of weather, physics, and the continuance of media criticism. I am very confident in our local talent.
