Unlike Colorado Springs, I believe that garbage collection in Los Angeles is a function of the city government, for which the protestors have paid more than their fair share of taxes. What does it matter if the garbage was picked up in one place downtown, or from thousands of homes and apartments scattered throughout the city?

30 tons of garbage is a good measure of the movement's popularity.

Even the liberal power elite are criticizing the Occupy movement? How inconsiderate!

Perhaps that is why the movement has rejected the "liberal" label just as vehemently as they reject the "conservative" label.
