If the stunning vistas shining forth from its Web cam (there's even a flag pole!) weren't enough to sate your desires to fraternize with fossils, Florissant Fossil Beds is just a quick drive away. It offers 14-foot-wide petrified redwood stumps and plenty of insect and plant fossils — but sorry, no dinosaur relics.
