Best Of 2012: Korean
Last year Tong Tong won silver; this year, it's a well-deserved gold. Owner Seon Ok Lee says she and her family owned a restaurant in Korea before moving here nine years ago to open Tong Tong. It's still a family pursuit: Her husband is the cook, her mother-in-law makes the side dishes, her daughter illustrates the menu and website, and she works out front. "Koreans eat here, but a lot of Americans come in too, especially soldiers who have served in Korea," Lee says. "They loved the food and now they bring their families here. I'm very proud of our food and culture. The Korean culture is to share — you share the food, you share the mind." — Kendall Kullman
