This is about the Test Drive Service Center
So irate! I took my car in because it was making a funny noise (user error). I dropped it off on a Wednesday evening because I was not going to be around Thursday when it was scheduled to be looked at. I was set up with a tech Wednesday to do a ride along to see if he could figure out the problem. He couldn’t at the time. Around 2pm Thursday evening I get a call about the problem. I tell them to fix it. This is when I was told that the parts for my car would be special ordered and that they would not be in until Monday.
I was blown away. My issue with that is that it never came up Wednesday. They never said that if parts were needed they would have to be ordered, because your car is so new (2011). No one ever said you will be out of a car for about five days. I wanted them to put it back together and I was going to pick it up, pay for the parts that I was told later, were special ordered so I had to pay for them, and take my car somewhere else. I should have!
I received no call Monday about my car. I called Tuesday after 11 am and the service chic gets on the phone and says "Oh yeah, we'll have it done by the end of the day today." I ask her why that would be because she told me Monday. I asked her why no one contacted me Monday to let me know they were not done. She replies," Let me look at my call log and see, I called this number (my home number) at 3:40pm yesterday." I'm furious now because she says that she has a log saying she called my house and no one called! I say, no, I have a phone log as well and I was at home, you didn't call me. Then she goes into making oh sounds and mumbling about she thought she did and she doesn't know what happened. The kicker is, I gave them my cellphone number and she had previously contacted me on. So… now she lies about calling my home number? She never even said she left a message. Probably because she knew she was lying. She left a message on my cellphone Thursday.
So, not only did they not call me early in the morning Monday to say they didn't receive the parts and would not be done but they lied about calling me. She said the parts eventually came in around 2:30pm Monday. However, she said the car would not be ready until the end of the day Tuesday. That means they knew Monday morning that they weren't going to be able to fix the car and no one called then. Plus, this job should not take all day. What I’m getting is that no one touched my car Monday when the parts came in and they did not start on it Tuesday morning either.
I will never take my car there again unless it has a warranty issue. I took my car in for services such as oil changes and rotations (I drive a lot). No more. I will no longer pass along their name to those who are searching for cars either.
Keeping my car for six days is one thing, however; my major problem is the lie and then the lack of communication. I should not have to call them to chase down my car. They need to get more competent people in there as well. Obviously those that are working in the service department at the desk are overwhelmed and cannot handle the task they are assigned. Lying is not the answer. Had she admitted she forgot to call me I would have been upset but it is different than outright lying to me.
I will have the work inspected by another mechanic because I don't trust them after reading other reviews and the lie.
They essentially allow no returns. If it wilts or dies from bugs or a disease the plant came with you are just out of luck. Also, the owner and office/register staff don't care about customers. I won't be going back.

We listen, I listen and my day depends on the good and bad expressed as it gives me direction!
the west side closed a few days ago due to lease issues, so I hit the south side bargain mart on south academy and Hancock and its so full!!! it was great!!! With one store the owners dont have to split the inventory!!! I think it will be great! :-)

Mr "Mike" Nelson Barber, I have been going there quite a few years. Mr Nelson is a good man with a following of down to earth people. Getting your hair cut at this vintage barber shop has been an high light of many of my days. You never know who shows up and what the topic of conversation will be that day. The waits and the cuts are good. GB

We, my husband and I, love Luisa Graff Jewelers. They certainly treated us with respect. We felt like we were the only people in the store. We felt "loved". We look forward to her new store. We will be in line to be one of her first customers in her new store!
Marcea Flowers is a fraud who stole over $1200 from via a scam on Craigslist. I am currently working with the IC3 and a lawyer to bring her to justice. Do not trust her.
From the moment my husband and I entered Lucy & Louise Paint the Town, we knew we were going to have a unique and fun date night! The atmosphere was welcoming with bright, festive decor while upbeat music played in the background. We settled-in with a set of brushes, an apron tied on, a glass of sparkling lemonade and a blank canvas resting on an easel. Bev, the owner/artist of Lucy & Louise Paint the Town, led us through a series of steps to create the featured painting, which was a Christmas tree for our class (or we could choose to paint whatever our hearts desired). As we painted the night away, we were entertained by Bev's southern charm, funny stories and encouragement that we would see our own individual creativity blossom on the canvas. When our artwork needed to dry, we enjoyed a break to shop at Lucy & Louise Atelier and mingle with the other painters. By the end of the night, we gathered for a group photo with our whimsical paintings, new friends and fun memories captured forever. We highly recommend this new, inspiring experience for a date night, girls-night-out, or just a treat for your own soul! Once you try it, you'll soon be Painting the Town along with us and starting a collection of masterpieces!

Agreed, det. These bigger shops are total vultures. I was able to get a repair done for less than $100 recently while some of the shops were quoting me over $600. Took it to Tinker's garage on Union and Willamette. Good work, good service, very fast, very honest. I know the Indy has bills to pay and people to feed(well?), but why endorse people like this who make a living ripping people off?
A friend of mine was quoted by Aspen for a new starter at over $700. What a sham. $700 for a $60 part and less than an hour of work? Some might say that's a con. Are you endorsing them simply for the shuttle service? I would think honesty in a mechanic would trump any frilly service or limited warranty they may offer.
I'm beginning to think these endorsements go the the more 'generous' companies around here. I hope nobody takes this 'best of' crap seriously. Aspen doesn't deserve any positive press. You might consider doing some 'independent' research for these companies, regardless of what the 'public' voted for.
Aspen auto clinic is a total ripoff. My daughter went to Aspen on Mark Dabling blvd. for a front end alignment. They told her correctly that she needed a new steering knuckle, however this is the only thing they got correct. They lied to her, stating that she needed also a new hub bearing, camber bolt, bearing seal, when in fact this all is one unit that comes with the steering knuckle.
They quoted her $1005.51 for a new or $777.34 for a used steering knuckle. She knew something was up as this was a ridiculous price. She went to another shop in town and the total cost was $230.45, including the front-end alignment. Aspen had the audacity to charge her $27 for the alignment test when she told them she would forgo the repair.
She spent a fraction of the cost and her car is now driving very nicely. Again, do NOT take your car to Aspen auto clinic unless you want to be chargee 4 times the actual cost of repairs.
I'm a big fan of Garden of the Gods Gourmet. Love their take-home soups, breads, and Curry Chicken Salad. I recently tried their "Dinner with the Chef" and had a wonderful evening enjoying food prepared in the kitchen by Chef Larissa. The food was wonderful and the price was very reasonable. You have to make reservations in advance, but I would highly recommend it to others.
Most of my current wardrobe was purchased here over the years and I still love all of it! Timeless fashion!
