Just mentioned this to a friend who immediately regaled me with tales of rude treatment and whacko bad beer...the verdict is in.
Very unprofessional staff. No respect for local acts, even though they "want to build the local scene." I've never actually been screamed at by a representative of a venue, and I've played about 90% of the venues in the Springs. I warn any act going in there to expect to be treated poorly, but I hope you have a better experience when/if you play. Timbo, the main sound guy is a pure gentleman, but the rest of the crew is pretty negative.
Sound isn't terrible, but the tin roof and concrete floors really color it. Lights aren't terrible either, they have moving heads, but they project a screen saver on the back of the stage that seems pretty corny. I'm sure you can request that off though. Stage is white, not a fan of that.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend anyone to play a show here. In fact, I would say try to get the show moved to the Black Sheep or Loft or somewhere else.
We stopped in here New Years Eve to have a couple beers. The regulars are not at all friendly and are in fact quite hostile to outsiders. We played a game of darts and a loudmouthed regular wanted to fight us over it. When we didn't fall for his threats, he harassed us non stop as we played. Go there only if you want to get into a fight with a regular. There are bars in town with much cooler clientele.
Too bad you have to share your food with all the flies...
I must say the place has taken a turn for the worst. Don't rely on my comments though, I am not afraid to be wrong.
Yes, vague is not the way I would have done it. Take responsibility for your employee's actions, what they say, you say. Two words for you: legal recourse.
Sunday staff rude and honestly think staff should wear uniforms. Staff member was so gross my date and I walked out. Working class and military trash. Too bad! Heard great things!?!?
As a real NAVAJO, who has actually grew up on the Navajo Reservation, I take offense to this establishment's name and business practice. Many native tribes are still struggling with alcoholism, drug abuse, suicide and domestic violence. There is NOTHING Navajo about this place, nor does it compliment my tribe. It is not "honoring" Navajos, it's simply furthering the stereotype that Native Americans are goofy drunks. I will be doing everything I can to spread word about this business' practice and the exploitation therein. Please note.
Live music on Saturday? Not if there is a game on the TV. Band standing around waiting for the game to be over before they could start playing. I go OUT to see live music, I can watch the game at home. House sound system is cranking obnoxious techno-dance mix stuff while the band stands around waiting for the game to be over? Seriously? Never did get to see the band play. They were billed to start at 8. Doorman said 8:30. We left at 9:45 without hearing a note. What a disappointment.
Use to patronize The Keg regularly for lunch. Unfortunately the last couple times, the chicken in the Berry Salad was like a rubber chicken. Food has gone down hill over the last couple of years.
What a horrible place! The people that work there are rude the customers are worse! You couldn't pay me to go back in there again. Dirty, trashy and just plain gross!
I WOULD RATE THIS PLACE TRIPLE ZERO, UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO LEAVE A ONE STAR AND IT HURTS. RUDE, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ACT AS IF THEY ARE DOING YOU A FAVOR. HOGS WOULDN'T EVEN EAT THAT FOOD. IF YOU ENJOY BURN SOGGY SOUR FRIES, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. NOW I KNOW WHY THE PLACE IS ALWAYS EMPTY. THE OWNER IS A HOLE TOO. BAD ENERGY IN THAT PLACE, VERY NEGATIVE.GREAT PLACE TO GO UTE INN (WOODLAND PARK), AWESOME, FRIENDLY OWNER & EMPLOYEES, ALSO RECOMMEND THE SILVER TONGUE DEVIL SALOON (GREEN MOUNTAIN FALLS).
I visited this establishment for the firt time on June 4, 2011 with two friends. It was after the wine fest and we wanted to sit, have some drinks, and have some food. One of the persons with us was the DD, so she ordered water. My friend and I recieved our drinks right away, but the water for the DD took 20 minutes. I found the bartender and asked him for the water, explaining it had taken 20 minutes. When the water came it was brown and dirty. My friend (not the DD) asked the bartender for another water, explaining the one he sent was dirty. At that time he pointed at me and said I was "hasseling him" already about the water and refused to replace it. When I asked for the owner he falsely claimed to be the owner (I found out by calling later) and told me to leave "his " bar. He even went so far as to call the police to make me leave, though I was waiting for the DD to come back from the restroom. When I called later to find out who the owner was he answered the first time and told me he wouldn't get into trouble because his mom owned the bar. IDK if mom wants her business run like that, but if this is any indication of how it is going to be run, then I and my associates will frequent another establishment. Love Manitou, very much dislike the Keg. I can't rate the food or value because I was told to leave before it came.
I witnessed a disturbing event last night as we were being ushered off the patio. I saw the entire exchange from start to end. 1 of the bouncers told a drunk guy he was going to f* the drunk guys wife, clearly trying to incite a fight. I found myself telling their bouncer to stop. Not a way to run a professional establishment. Since I'm usually the DD, be assured that I am making no plans for a trip to Copperhead Road again. I usually side with the law and order side of any argument, thinking that the bar patron did something to provoke getting thrown out, but there was no valid reason for this crappy treatment.
My advice: If your looking to get insulted, your butt kicked and thrown in jail for fighting, go here. Otherwise, there are several other clubs in this town you can go to to have a good time.
Some of the worst BBQ I have ever had and I know my BBQ. The brisket tasted like it was broiled in an over, the ribs were fatty and I'm not sure what the sausage was made from. The side dishes consisted of baked bean ( tasted like they came from a can) and potato salad (absolutely no flavor what so ever. The only good things I have to say was the portions were large and the service was good.
Not worth the money! I came here for a girls'-night-out and we were seated by the piano; all we could focus on was the "colorful" language we heard coming from the kitchen. The food and drinks were mediocre at best, and the servers were obviously overwhelmed. Also, after being open for almost a year, you would expect this place to have some sort of sign, but this is not the case. To top it off, as I was leaving, I passed by the side-door and had who I believe was the yeller with colorful language from the kitchen tell me to "have a good evening" as he sat in a sweaty, dirty t-shirt and shorts and smoked a cigarette. I would expect this sort of behavior and attire from a fast food restaurant, not an upscale jazz club. I absolutely advise against going here!
Has anyone heard about the assult the staff bouncers pulled on some customers and they bad thing they did to the Texas couple Sat Feb19th 2011? Its awful..They totally asult this couple and..It is sad..They injured a guy until he had to go to the Er and they were visiting from TX on a Business trip..WOW!!The bouncers and the door guys were all involved..They hit the little girl that was with the guy that had his knees injured..wrong wrong wrong..I will never go there until they all get fired...Wrong...The video should be found and put on youtube..This is huge...
They act like they like you then just kick you out because you some the owner doesnt like. I would say never go in there unless you have money to blow on over priced drinks.
Re: “Nosh”
Went to Nosh the other day...and it is really hard now to get a glass of water...what is that about?
