American Classics Marketplace is part flea market and part museum. A fun place to browse and be reminded of the way things used to be, it also has plenty of opportunities for picking up a bargain-priced item to complete your home's decor. Turnover is quick though, so you'll need to make up your mind on most things right away.
My only complaint? It's a very large and maze-like facility - thus you'll never remember where you saw something unless you take notes.
The Buzz is better than previous incarnations. The live music has been good plus the staff have been friendly to me, introducing themselves and smiling as well- something most places need to learn to do. Too many places seem like they are too busy too deal with customers! Stay open til 2 okay?. Why places close at 11 or 12 just because business is slow is beyond me, when doors are locked there will be no business at all!
I would give 5 stars but any red decor has to go! Restaurants that have red walls, carpet and such do so because it has been shown diners will eat and then leave. A bar should not want customers to have a beer and go! Hope to see a patio maybe...? Thanks!
I haven't been there since last summer, since I've cut back on my shopping while getting rid of my excess inventory, but it's been one of my favorites stores to find unique and different things, so I hate to see bad comments about it. They sell everything from Antiques to handmade to garage sale stuff, which is why it's so fun, you never know what you'll find. The prices also range from overpriced, to great deals. I don't go downtown very often, but make a special trip now and then just for the Treasure Shoppe, and have been going off and on for years, so can't believe they've gone so far downhill in a year. If you just want antiques, stick to the actual antique stores, since just because they sell some antiques, doesn't make them an "antique" store. A lot of places are combining antiques with other things these days, which is great for people like me, and like they say, one person's trash is another person's treasure. I've always found great things there, at decent prices, since I look for items to resell myself. It's in the top of my top 10 stores to shop, so I really don't know what people are complaining about, they're obviously shopping for something specific and are looking in the wrong store. No matter, the Treasure Shoppe definitely gets a thumbs up from me.
Great show at the Royal Castle Lounge last night. The headliner, Captain Wails and the Harpoons, put on a good show. Also caught the warm up band, The Youthful Nothings. This is a really good up and coming Punk/Grunge band. Royal Castle Lounge is a nice venue! Highly recommend you stop by and listen to some good music!
I've just started going there and I didn't have that experience at all.
new, clean, and warm inside. I ordered a vanilla latte which was steamed by the barista, not a machine, which I prefer. They have a conference room for rent which I plan to use for casual meetings with new clients. I would recommend this cafe to friends.
Good place to shop for some home supplies when living in Falcon, CO.
I had an awesome experience here!!! If it weren't for the owner I never would have survived my first day stripping. She not only set me up with some great stuff but also gave me inc-readable advice that saved my life that day. TOTAL LIFE SAVER. I would recommend to every one. (Oh and she even let me use the bathroom!!!!) Maybe you were just rude? Eh its standard procedure to see anybody's ID when entering an adult store. (duh)
Front Range is sadly underrated for their wonderful marriage of very very good food and quality music. No words can describe their delectable meals. And whoever books their bands really know what they're doing because we've seen some great acts come through here, most of them traveling from afar. Not sure why they advertise it as "southern rock" because musicians have come from Philly, Boston, etc., and have a wise variety of soulful sounds. If you want excellent food from a restaurant that has great taste in music, this is the place to be.
The bar is under new ownership and it's about to take The Springs by Storm with live entertainment and much more.
Lots of improvements both inside and out. The owners and staff work very hard to keep everyone coming back again and again. If you are looking for a place that has something for everyone's taste, you need to check them out!
I would give 5 stars except for the service is not as reliable or respectful as it could be throughout the staff. Staff is older and assumes you know what you want and where to find it. They don't take kindly to having to walk around the store themselves. I hope I'm not being fair and this was just one person among them who displayed this lackadaisical attitude to a first time customer who plans to be a repeat one if it hounds you to death. lol STILL this is a phenomenal store as far as its content. Unique and well stocked.
Love the hemp clothing, designed with comfort in mind, and perfect wear for the artist in you. Sometimes it's a bit more hectic than I like, maybe because it is tourist season then, but there is another store in Old Colorado City! That is an alternative to seasonal crowds. They have everything you could want at Pyramide! Hats, jewelry, bags, and scarves included.
I have not been there in some time but when I was I really appreciated all the Belgian ales on tap. That is very hard to find. If you appreciate Belgian ales you can do worse.
Tejon- I usually like your reviews but it seems like it's personal with you. You have too many entries on here and it's watering down your comments. Just my thoughts.
Jason is kind of a hippy dude, I met him when he was the brewmaster at Bristol's. He certainly has talent.
The Yarn Outlet has graduated from being a discount yarn store to being a top destination for every yarn from I'm-just-learning-acrylics to designer cashmere, silk, alpaca and organic hand-painted special fibers. Their needle and accessory selection is great and it is now even less likely that you can leave without buying something. The owner is helpful and friendly and so are the knitters, of whom I am happy to be a regular one.
Would you believe that this station has fans (and strategically placed bumper stickers) in the Soho section of New York City?
The best of the Colorado Springs stations as far as news. They blew away the competition on covering last summer's inferno. And their newscasts can be viewed on the internet from anywhere- a big plus when you're on vacation and want to catch up on the news from home.
Typical top 40 station- but with a fresher playlist than usual for a smaller market like Colorado Springs and Pueblo.
Best of the local stations as far as contemporary music goes- but a bit too Clear Channel packaged. And for some reason, their signal is weak in the northern sections of the Springs.
One of the better places in town. The Super Lemon Haze is real good for migraines. Prices are awesome and the girl helping me was super beautiful. I also got a free gram of kief so thank you very much!
