Look forward to meeting everyone at the "Against the Grain" opening reception this Friday at We Us Our Artist's Market. Spread the word and support the arts!!
Great shows and exhibits.
A great space for exploring fresh and innovative contemporary art in the historic Tutt Building (National Register of Historic Places) right on Central Plaza and the ARTery in Downtown Pueblo. The Gallery offers new shows each month and offers an opportunity to get to know the artist(s) at the opening reception and also participates in Pueblo's vibrant First Friday Art Walks each month throughout the year.
Awesome new place! The teas are wonderful, the staff is open and friendly and the food is great!! Worth getting off the main drag for!! Live music on Tuesdays and I hear they will have open mic nights as well starting this month!!
I love this place! The staff is very friendly, the food is great and the tea is *amazing*! It's certainly a bit off the beaten path, but it's worth it. It's certainly not a conventional tea house and it's still early in it's development - having opened doors in April, but the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. It's also great to have a new music venue in the Springs on Tuesday nights. Definitely worth checking out!
Local artists gravitate here. There are art studios for rent, thus working artists who can be observed, or you may choose to be one of them. Community-oriented, as the name suggests, there are meetings, shows, and a bookstore "The Black Cat" making it a friendly place to be.
A gallery filled with the unique visions of talented local artists in a variety of media and the recommended Edge framing business; the boutique has beautiful one-of-a-kind jewely and gift items. The owner, Patrice, is a watercolor artist and instructor.
I have become addicted! Spending evenings with Paint the Town has become my therapy to break away from the craziness and stress of the week. Open, friendly, peaceful, accepting and fun atmosphere just melts the stress away. The instructor Bev always has a warm smile, encouraging word or crazy dance. I have brought children with me all accepted and encouraged. One child is special needs and Bev was a blessing. I totally APPRECIATE that is an alcohol free zone! I WILL be back.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Loved every minute of Paint the Town! What an awesome night!!!
Our family recently joined a Paint-the-town painting party and had a blast! What a fun way to spend a cold, blustery evening with our kids. The new north-side Colorado Springs location is easy-access with plenty of free parking. The jivey music kept our creativity flowing while painters laughed with one another. Miss Bev, the owner/artist, led the class of all ages with her easy, happy style. By evenings end, we had met new friends and took home our own splashy sunflower canvases. We couldn't of had more fun as a family! And I will return soon with my office co-workers for a private team-building event to inspire some fresh ideas. Paint-the-Town is a new form of entertainment, safe for all ages, with lots of different classes, private parties and "fun"raising too! Go check it out! I bet you'll get hooked like we did and join-in more than once!

The variety of media I saw used in the various pieces of work on display was quite diverse and interesting. The show was definitely atypical, if compared to the work usually seen in other Old Colorado City art galleries that have been around for a while. There were no works of art on dispaly at this gallery featuring the typically seen Aspen trees, pine trees, or mountain seens, which are usually aimed at tourists visiting the area who do not see these types of sceens on an everyday basis.
The show was a breath of fresh air for the Colorado Springs art enthusiast, such as myself! I saw non-representational three-dimensional sculptural forms made from metal, wood, paint, and/or fiber, hand dyed fiberart pieces, pastel drawings, charcoal drawings, charcoal combined with pastel drawings, colored pencil drawings, pen and ink drawings, paintings, pieces featuring non-traditional, recycled materials, and even a tryptych consisting of framed silk ribbon weavings. There were quite a few portraits, an interior sceen, some intriguing still lifes, and a few photographic pieces, as well.
Every art enthusiast should come see this show before it ends soon. The last show is on Friday, February 4th from 5-8. There will be a reception and the opportunity to speak with each of the 12 artists on display about their artwork, which always makes viewing art more interesting.
I've seen this variety of work and I highly recommend spending some time with each piece.
Great coffee, and Great art.... A winning combonation made even better by sweet people behind the counter!!!
Tina, the owner of Colachi Arts, is a faithful supporter of art and artists in general; she really believes in the artists & their work she has on display. She is a very interesting person to talk with. Tina is an artist, too, and really understands the process of creativity. I guess we are all just numbers in a very busy world were it not for the peace and serenity you can derive just from taking a few moments and enjoying some artistic expressions in this wonderful gallery.
I think this is the best frame shop in Colorado Springs. They actively support the local art community, including schools and their students. They have artwork from about 25 local artists on display. They offer a superbly large set of frame choices, easily the largest set of choices in Southern Colorado. They are both professional and small town friendly at the same time. Well worth visiting.
The exhibit looks remarkable. Such a wide array of visual arts, it's incredible and well worth seeing!
