One of our favorite places in town. Consistantly great food and service. We'll be back again and again.
burned, over-priced food and a very rude manager (dressed in wrinkled tshirt and pants) who argued with us in the middle of the dining room. Pathetic.
Service is horrible!!!
The staff is inattentive and dismissive. It's painfully obvious they they are easily overcome by events. The bartender is overly concerned with catering to female patrons rather than his actual job. The acoustics in the place are terrible and it's a shame because the bands are great. The music is almost drowned out by people chatting away. Most of this is attributed to the fact that the place is in the garage of the owners other business which the staff freely admits, like its a good thing. The food is way overrated and over priced as well as the drinks. The entire place has an air of extreme pretentiousness as the staff is overly concerned with local elites (some Army General's wife) that frequent the place while in turn neglecting other customers. I recommend with conditions namely eat before you go, don't expect prompt service and sit outside as the indoor acoustics are almost unbearable.
Great meal, great ambiance and wonderful live music.
This brand new venue has huge potential! We LOVED the food - it is exceptional....the bernaise sauce on the Steak Tapas was among the best I've had. The salmon is a generous portion perfectly cooked in a ponzo sauce over spinach. We also tried the special which was a perfectly cooked Halibut. It is sooo rare to find a restaurant that understands how to prepare fresh fish in Colorado. While this is clearly not "fast food", but rather "made to order real food", we find the service warm and friendly and the atmosphere and music make for a pleasant wait. The perfect dry martini didn't hurt either. The Creme de Brulee was also the best I've had.....rich and creamy, yet light with a hint of cardemom and ginger! They also cater to the "Gluten Free" diners.... We hope they are so busy that they will expand service to weekdays or lunch as well.
Just what he Springs needs- a great venue with awesome jazz musicians. I agree that the noise level was ridiculous. Hopefully the jazz enthusiasts will prevail. I see lots of potential here.
Loved the food - truffle coated french fries, tempura fried bacon, tasty shrimps all with nice dipping sauces. The music was outstanding and the place was comfortable with an elegant, upscale vibe. Only complaint was the noise level in the room - lots of hard reflective surfaces and chatty youngsters.
I'm very excited about this new venue and hope it thrives and prospers in our community. I'm hoping once the social bar flys are gone--these are the people who are currently crowding the place to just talk all over the music and treat it as background noise like they do at every other bar in town--then there will be room for real Jazz lovers to come out and appreciate great music and great musicians.
Service is LACKING to say the least!! Took over an hour to get drinks after we ordered them. Well over an hour to get the appitizers that were just OK!!! Dont think I could recommend MOTIF to friends and family!!
The Warehouse owner's response to the posting by "Blumba"
An indication of the date of this event would have been most helpful, as we did have an experience with multiple vehicle break-ins, but not sure how this correlates the reported mention of my staff member’s referral to "Christmas time" and the posting date of 3-23-10. We did indeed have an evening in January when 6 vehicles, 2 of them belonging to members of my staff, were broken in to.
We always take care of clients when requests are made for assistance in contacting any needed services; police, hotels, taxis, etc., and the Gold Hill Police Station was quickly contacted by me about this matter. We also provided the affected clients with the needed contact information to reach police for patrol response or to file reports, but we can only do so much as this incident happened outside of our premise. If the reviewer is indeed referring the evening I recall, we did contact the police and they did respond, but all clients affected by these break-ins left property before law enforcement arrived.
Once the police were on premise, they let us know that vehicle break-ins had occurred this same evening in other establishments in our area; we were not alone in having this unfortunate incident happen at our place of business. Despite ongoing education and advisement from law enforcement, newspaper articles, and various broadcasts about leaving articles such as computers, cell phones, GPS devices, purses, presents, etc. in plain sight, especially during the holiday season, for some reason certain people continue to leave bait items such as these readily available to those who would steal from them. Please take some personal responsibility for these kinds of incidents!
Glad to hear the food was decent; we try very hard to be the best. As far as the mention of dessert, we serve the items that clients order for their events, and if crème puffs is requested, this is what we put out. Many other dessert options are available if requested; we are more than happy to do whatever clients ask for.

The Warehouse Restaurant
Nosh's lunch menu was updated since the last time I had visited and it took me twice as long to order as I wanted to try EVERYTHING. I settled on a cup of squash and apple soup (although their new option for a soup trio was tempting) and their Brussel Sprouts with polenta, candied lemon zest, manchego and a Korean sauce/condiment called Kochujang. I was not disappointed. The soup, especially, was divine... the brussel sprout dish a nice mix of sweet and savory and good textures. Unfortunately we were too full to try dessert so no report there.
On my 'to try next' list: the roasted cauliflower plate with garlic, miso and caramelized onion and the chicken pistou sandwich. GREAT service - especially if you get Aspen.
I will never go back to The Warehouse. They put on a buffet for a work function I went to -- the food was decent, although their idea of desert for 75 people was one tray of cream puffs. However, six of us got our cars broken into while dining there, in their parking lot. When we went back in to get support from the staff in calling the police, the waitresses response was "Wow! I'm surprised that happened tonight. It usually happens around Christmas!" Anyplace that says break-ins "usually" happen at a certain time, then don't bother calling the police....makes me wonder. The best food in the world wouldn't be worth that attitude or expense.
Lovley wine list, excellent service, devine food in a unique atmosphere.
Well, the Friday night Happy Hour is even better than the brunch..All you can eat Buffallo wings for free! Discounted drink prices and Live Jazz band every Friday night!
Really awesome..did I mention the friendly cocktail waitresses?
They have a GREAT Sunday Brunch with room after room of buffet-style everything you could possibly want. There is also a custom omelet station and a place where they make fresh waffles and bananas foster to order. Oh, did I mention the all-you-can-drink Mimosas??? The patio is awesome with beautiful views. This is really the place to go for Sunday Brunch. :)
Amazing experience. Exotic meats like Wild Boar, etc. Pricey but worth it.
What a great dining experience, best I have had in years.
The staff was friendly and entertaining, not to mention the food was great, the table side preparation was a treat that you don't see very often. The spinach salad that is prepared at your table is to die for.
We were staying at The Broadmoor and was very disappointed in the level of service at the restaurants, that was not the case with Joseph's.
We liked Joseph's so much that we returned a second time and everything was just as good as the first visit.
I highly recommend this place. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance, this place is great.
Lounge staff and atmosphere were terrific as were the mixed drinks we got from the bar. Too bad I can't say the same about the "fancy" Dining room staff. Both menus are wonderful and the wine selection is second to none. Not so sure I like that the menu in the Dining room changes so frequently. But their desserts are to die for.
Sorry, but the last time I ate there, I was served a badly burned quiche, with no apologies, and no offer of an alternate meal.
So, it WILL be the last time I eat there!
Re: “Ritz Grill”
Ritz Downtown - Blah. My chicken sandwich was significantly overcooked. My wife ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta. They forget to put in the shrimp! The waitress offered to give us a to go box with shrimp in it to make up for it. WTF!. No offer to reduce the bill for skipping the shrimp. Move on to a better restaurant folks!
