Used to be the BEST mexican food in town. Has gone downhill lately. Amanda would be sad to see this.
Great food, good service but they are very busy, especially in the summer so plan on a wait. Try the Horney Margarita and hope for a booth.
We decided to finally head across town and check out this award winner. The ambiance is nice and the staff very friendly. Starting out with a margarita is definitely the way to go! The chicken mole was very good and had layers of flavor but none were overpowering. The only problem were the sides, the beans and rice were somewhat bland and need to be perked up a bit. This was well worth the drive and we will be heading back to try the chili colorado.
Exact same thing with Alfonso's Mexican Restaurant on 21st street. Smelled like toilet overflowed or something; gross.
Smelled like an open sewer! Not sure if they have plumbing problems or what. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants for mexican food, but the last two times we tried to eat there - it smelled so bad we had to leave. Horrible!!!!!!!! They should be audited and shut down until it can be fixed. Absolutely disgusting smell.
More then a restaurant, its a light to the community its family inviting, and yes the food is GREAT,and they have a privet room called the 200 room its for meetings, party's, family's getting together, they now have a new Menu with great new prices. Also a warm patio outside with two flat screen tv's a Sports Bar inside, me and my family go there a lot, try it you will like it.
I thought Poblano's was OK when it first opened in Falcon, nothing exceptional but not terrible either but at least we had a Mexican restaurant. Now that La Mission is open, I won't go to Poblano's again. La Mission blows it away.
Loved eating here when we lived in Mantiou - especially liked the chicken in mole, fish tacos, and chile Colorado. Outdoor patio overlooking the creek is nice when the weather is nice and when you're not seated next to a smoker (1 star reduction for allowing smoking on the patio).
Standard "whitey" Mexican food that can be found anywhere. Insipid.
Adequate good food, but not sure why they keep winning awards. Didn't seem all that special to me. I thought the food was better a block away at La Unica....
One of my favorite places to eat. Great food, good service, very relaxed atmosphere, very nice location.
Always friendly, always good food. Atmosphere is great and the staff well trained. I have taken large groups here and they all love it. My Colorado Springs area fav Mexican food.
The atmosphere was campy and the food was middle of the road.
Tasty and fresh. Good quality, eclectic choices. Price and attitude a little high for what you get.
I've never had anything I did not like there! Margaritas are a must--so strong, but they go down a little too smooth:) The salsa is the BEST restaurant salsa I've ever had, burritos are huge, chile verde is amazing, and service is always super-friendly!! Beware only the guacamole--heavy on the onion, but it's decent--I just think $3.50 for a 2 oz. cup side order is a little extreme....
Overall, it's the best mexican food in the springs, if you ask me! I take all of my out-of-town visitors there and it always goes over well.
My family has eaten at La Casita many, many times. It is definitely a favorite. Inexpensive (though not quite cheap), very good Mexican food. Never had a bad meal there and the salsas, guacamole, etc., are excellent.
overpriced for what you get
Fast, flavorful and filling. I can't disagree with the details above that recommend the Avo Pork burrito. And believe me, one is enough! Get some of their fresh lemonade and a ginormous slice of their tres leches cake and you may not need to eat again til next month. Close quarters inside, sometimes you may end up at a table with folks you don't know but they're all friendly. Some outdoor tables, too -- or just get it to go. Really great food.
the chicken in the flautas had a gamey taste...
The cheese flan is muy fabuloso and made by the cute little "abuela" in the back.
