Standard "whitey" Mexican food that can be found anywhere. Insipid.
Adequate good food, but not sure why they keep winning awards. Didn't seem all that special to me. I thought the food was better a block away at La Unica....
One of my favorite places to eat. Great food, good service, very relaxed atmosphere, very nice location.
Always friendly, always good food. Atmosphere is great and the staff well trained. I have taken large groups here and they all love it. My Colorado Springs area fav Mexican food.
The atmosphere was campy and the food was middle of the road.
Tasty and fresh. Good quality, eclectic choices. Price and attitude a little high for what you get.
I've never had anything I did not like there! Margaritas are a must--so strong, but they go down a little too smooth:) The salsa is the BEST restaurant salsa I've ever had, burritos are huge, chile verde is amazing, and service is always super-friendly!! Beware only the guacamole--heavy on the onion, but it's decent--I just think $3.50 for a 2 oz. cup side order is a little extreme....
Overall, it's the best mexican food in the springs, if you ask me! I take all of my out-of-town visitors there and it always goes over well.
My family has eaten at La Casita many, many times. It is definitely a favorite. Inexpensive (though not quite cheap), very good Mexican food. Never had a bad meal there and the salsas, guacamole, etc., are excellent.
Fast, flavorful and filling. I can't disagree with the details above that recommend the Avo Pork burrito. And believe me, one is enough! Get some of their fresh lemonade and a ginormous slice of their tres leches cake and you may not need to eat again til next month. Close quarters inside, sometimes you may end up at a table with folks you don't know but they're all friendly. Some outdoor tables, too -- or just get it to go. Really great food.
the chicken in the flautas had a gamey taste...
The cheese flan is muy fabuloso and made by the cute little "abuela" in the back.
GREAT FOOD!!!!!!
This is my favorite sit-down Mexican restaurant in town. The patio option is GREAT when the weather agrees, the service is always on, the margaritas are strong, the salsa is fresh and spicy and the food is straight up good. The portions are big enough that you have built in lunch leftovers for the next day. Try the fish tacos... try their soups... try their "chile" sampler plate. Yummy.
Re: “Amanda's Fonda”
Loved eating here when we lived in Mantiou - especially liked the chicken in mole, fish tacos, and chile Colorado. Outdoor patio overlooking the creek is nice when the weather is nice and when you're not seated next to a smoker (1 star reduction for allowing smoking on the patio).
