Re: “Fujiyama

I visited Fujiyama this week and their 20% automatic tip (see earlier review) has been removed! I asked before ordering... :-). Glad to see this taken care of - the food is wonderful! Looking forward to 1/2 price Monday's!

Re: “Fujiyama

Half price sushi and rolls Mon thru Fri lunch. Mon Happy Hour 5-6 everything on the menu including liquor half price. The place is insanely mobbed so go early and expect poor service, but what the heck-its half price. The food is good, when you finally get it.

Re: “Sushi Ring

OMG this place is my new favorite in the springs. Last time I went to fujiyama on monday for the half off I STILL ended up paying over $90. Sushi ring has a great boisterous atmosphere, the sushi chefs are talkative and friendly and the sushi itself is great. For $25 you get your money's worth!

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

I had the pleasure of dining at Miyake this week and really enjoyed the experience. John was very engaging and the sushi was fresh. I'll be back soon with friends and family.

Re: “Fujiyama

Fujiyama has an awesome rolls menu and the 1/2 price rolls and nigiri at lunch is a smokin' deal. Really unique selection of rolls, but a bit heavy on the fried and cream cheese options. I'd love to see more specialty rolls highlight the fish without the fried. However, that may be a preference they've seen from customers... just not mine. Some of the rolls didn't hold together great... seemed like they were either overstuffed or underwrapped and I ended up losing all the innards (ew... can you use that word in a food review?!) all over the platter.

Overall good experience, good flavors, good service. Love the miso and the seaweed salad.

Re: “Fujiyama

This place is a great place to have lunch( 1/2 price items) , dinner, or just to have a nice date. The food is very good, we have implemented Fujiyama's into our place to eat at least twice a month. The only issue I have is that the wait staff does not take good care of the customer and this could turn off any 1st customer, have patience and give this place a chance, you won't be disappointed, try the Playgirl and Playboy, yummy!

Re: “Fujiyama

I love this establishment, now that some of the old employment staff is back, i'm back to feeling at home. Jenny, the sushi chef, is simply "Divine" & an "Artist". For a downtown eatery, everyone is as friendly as can be, as if I were a long lost family member. The sushi is fresh and unique, especially for the timid un-adventurous folks. And though it may seem chaotic, the atmosphere is visually serene, upscale, and exquisite and, not to mention, Mondays & happy hour, wallet-friendly. I'm relieved, stuffy downtown Colorado Springs, is keeping it authentic, and yet, orient- chic. As for the past comments, try again, try. I think you'll be more satisfied with the improvements.

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

The Mongolian BBQ is first rate and at a good price. The Bento boxes are good and filling. I enjoy the quiet atmosphere and the food. The owner always greats us with a smile and remembers my husband and I from the times we had come before. I would definetley try this restuarant.

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

Could be the least customer friendly restaurant in town! The sushi was not very good and the mongolian bbq is average at best. Sad thing is the food was much better than the service. In a completely empty restaurant (big hint during the lunch hour) the waitress took about 10 minutes to bring my wife's drink. We had a problem and asked for the manager. This guy came from the back with an attitude and shouted across the restaurant towards us. I worked in restaurants through college and the managers were at worst decent towards the customers no matter what the situation. Don't go here! If they care so little for the customer then hopefully with such a bad attitude this place will not last.

Mouthwatering sushi, in a relaxing atmosphere, miso soup is outstanding as well.

Re: “Akasaka

Akasaka is the best Japanese restaurant in town. One Christmas we had their live lobster. Once the tail was eaten the waitress took it back and had their chef cook the rest of the meat into the best miso soup we've ever eaten. All of their specialty rolls are awesome, but i recommend the volcano roll to any spicy sushi lover!

Re: “Akasaka

I totally agree with comments about Akasaka's food and service, but disagree about people spoiling it. I've eaten there many times and believe it to be the best place for the freshest sushi in Colo Spgs. I say everyone should give it a try and judge for themselves.

Re: “Akasaka

This beautiful little restaurant was awesome, the staff was very nice, and the food was phenomenal! Almost didn't want to post this - don't want too many people coming and spoiling it.

Re: “Sushi Ai

THE BEST! This restaurant is incredible. Fresh fish, beautiful rolls and a warm atmosphere. I'm very picky when it comes to fish, but this place has never let me down. You won't find a better place for the price than Sushi Ai in Colorado Springs. Enjoy!

Re: “Fujiyama

Alas, in the case of Fujiyama, two strikes and they're out. My first experience there was very lackluster. Friday Night ultra-busy, but still with a cool vibe. Unfortunately the service was horrendous and the sushi only marginally better. 30 minutes to order, 1 hour to be served, and no checking in to see if we'd like more drinks. So chalking it up to it being busy, I tried again last night for a birthday celebration and experienced the same inattentive service and mediocre sushi.

Re: “Fujiyama

Some of the best and most inventive sushi I've ever had! Sit at the sushi bar where the chefs are very friendly and typically offer samples of rolls to try next time we come in Ask the bartender for their killer cucumber martini. All the rolls I've had are a must-try, but especially the Lion King and Monkey Brains! Plus--half-of sushi on Mondays--you can't beat that.

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

I have been here a few times and would have to say the food is okay. I would have to say Jun's is a lot better though. The service at this place is not as good as many other restaurants. The young gentlemen who served me seemed like he was out of it or high and smelt of cigarrettes. If I were you I would just either get the food to go or go somewhere else due to poor service.
