What a wonderful flight!
A large group of us went in with our aspiring kid pilots. They flew the plane to various places while the rest of us enjoyed some adult beverages. It's amazing the plane's cocpit is still there.
Everyone enjoyed their food although my wife wants to go back for the teriyaki salmon with a sweet pineapple salsa. And the kids keep wanting to go visit the plane again.
Thanks
They serve absolute garbage in there. I would never ever waste my time or money there again... ever! The only positive thing I can say is they do sit you at a table, in chairs. Although I'm surprised they don't just toss the "Food" on the floor to complete the presentation.
I was really looking forward to a great night out after all the great things I had heard. It turned out to be only OK. The service of course was great. Hostess, not so much I made reservations and put special notes in, they were completely ignored. Some of the food was good, some not so good. I read these reviews of people raving about the food in many joints around CS and it is just not so. In places like this I always start with the burgers. If I had to guess, another new place serving $10-$12 FROZEN burgers. Why? Soggy wet bun, uneatable bacon, Beans, most likely Van de Camps from a can. Onion rings OK, but also had a very processed texture and flavor, not fresh. Green beans were plain but ok, Au gratin potatoes ok. The steak was supposed to be a flat iron cut, I'm a bit suspect, however it was cooked correctly and tasted ok. I do a lot of flat iron from the butcher and it was not the same. Just didn't wow me for all the hype. Won't be going back. Just another same old same old.
Awesome place to eat! went with my family had everything from mac and cheese to the flatiron steak and it was cooked to perfection... My wife really enjoyed the cougar salad. Also need to add our waiters name was PJ and he gave some of the best service weve ever had! will be back many times!!!!
Awful. That's the only way to describe the only experience I had in the airplane. My wife and daughters took me here for my birthday a while back. I am a pilot and flight instructor so they thought it might be fun for me. The plane is, of course, separated from the main building and the staff has a lengthy walk to and from the main building for almost anything. After placing out order we did not see our server again for over 20 minutes. After watching several other diners get their food when they had ordered after us I asked another server if they could find out what was going on. It turns out that our server had 'had enough' and walked out without telling anyone. I worked in restaurants for 17 years, this happens. The problem is, no one noticed. They found our food which was sitting in the kitchen, pushed to the side for who knows how long and brought it out. Needless to say it was mostly inedible but not one person apologized or offered to replace the food or even the gesture of a complimentary dessert. While I was in the restroom someone dropped of the bill which I paid in cash and we left. Its not a very bright way to run a business.
Hmmm... I had posted a comment earlier and now it's missing?
I went here on my Birthday with friends and it was the Best! I had the Ahi Tuna....it was perfect & tasty. In my group, everyone enjoyed the food & service. In fact we have been back there several times since then :)
My favorite salad is the cougar salad and gor that drink you just can't make at home they have a Signature drink "Flatirons Cosmo." Let's just say, it is YUMMY!
I also like that this restaraunt has a really nice patio where you can enjoy your meal as well and when it gets chilly there is a really neat
fireplace. Highly recommend!
Flatirons has became my friends and family favorite place to frequent. The sloppy joes, tacos, burgers and steaks are always perfect and the service comes with lots of smiles. I encourage everyone to go and sit out on the patio with the fireplace on a nice night and enjoy a glass of wine and chocolate cake. One word YUM!!!
This is now my favorite place in town to frequent. The food is always perfect and the staff greets me with big smiles. The patio is my favorite on a nice night to sit by the fire and enjoy the relaxation. Everyone needs to try out Flatirons!!! Love it Love It..
Huge tasty burgers at reasonable prices. You must try the green chili soup, it is great.
Really excellent burgers, and you can get HALF of a burger if you're not a big eater. A well run local operation with more than one location IIRC, to include one on Fillmore just west of Union.
Awesome! had them again just to make sure! Buns are the freshest I've ever had! Waited in line for a while but the food came out pretty quick! Was able to take the kids! Fun place and great burgers and fries, oh yeah and the little ones said the dogs and grilled cheese were great too!!! :)
Good burger. Not worth the wait, there's no place to stand while waiting for a to-go order; the noise level is absurd; the fries are greasy and taste like they were cooked in old oil.
When in a hurry, I'll get a Star Burger at Carl's Jr.
When not in a hurry, I'll go to Ted's, where the burgers are great - and so are the fries.
In N Out burgers are superb, wish they were here.
i won't say my head went spinning off my neck, but overall it was pretty decent. It was actually a treat because it was the first new place i've been to in a while. So in the spirit of being generous, i'll say the food is ok and i dig the name. It's catchy. Maybe if this place can linger a bit longer it'll catch on to the pace and quality preference of Colorado Springs. (and RockMtnGuy, i dig what you've saying, but I urge you to be cautious. Lately i started avoiding Fudruckers when they stated hiring work release candidates in mass. ick*)
No "In and Out Burger" here in Colorado! The whole family grew up enjoying them in Covina, California. Every single time we fly there either San Diego, Rancho Cucamonga, Pasadena or wherever, we never, ever fail to go eat there. I am planning to visit Five Guys Burgers and Fries here in Colorado Springs in the very very near future.
.. not impressed. I was told that this place is almost as good as "In and Out Burger" .. not even CLOSE!. The burger tasted like a cacophany of everything that'd been cooked on the grill that day (onions, peppers, mushrooms .. all mixed together with that greasy taste from a grill that hadn't been cleaned for awhile). The fries were undercooked and needed to be drained a bit (oil leaking thru the paper bag). I don't get the hype. It's no better than Fatburger or any other mid-range burger joint trying to make a name for itself, and I can't imagine it having many repeat customers unless they're just used to mediocre-quality food or they have low food-appreciation standards.
What ever happend to Fudruckers?? Now that was a burger restaurant.
Best burgers & Fries my family and I have ever had! First had them in Virginia! These FIVE Brothers now how to do it! Love the music too! Only drawback, there is always a line, they seem to move you through pretty quick though. Love it!
over prices, fries are undercooked, order takers cant speak english well.
Very good BBQ and I'm not even "into" BBQ. Good portions, interesting recipes for sides, fantastic pies. Four stars only because its location is an old house, which provides ambiance I guess, but also makes it a tad crowded and cramped. But really, the food is very good and service is good also.
Re: “Flatiron's American Bar and Grill”
The service was great and the atmosphere was great, but the food was meh. I like to go out to eat for things that I cannot make better at home, and they failed on all 3 entrees ordered. Probably won't go back.
