the best seafood in town is at Bonefish...the menu on this place's bad website isn't even tempting...and no lobster roll is listed.
Who wrote this review? Did they even go to the restaurant?
Always a tough choice to go here or not. By far the best seafood in the springs. However it will be an hour before you get your food, and the waitstaff will not check on you unless prompted. If Mr. English would hire a real staff instead of relying on family this place would take off.
Too bad you have to share your food with all the flies...
Very good pulled pork sandwich with Mom's Corn and Pea Salad (think 3 bean with lots of upgrades). They have a great selection of beers on tap as well bottled brewery beers. Service is always great and it's a good family atmosphere. Yup, there's lots of kids. They are people too & generally better behaved than any most impaired adults.
We saw "Swamp Cabbage perform all original music. They advertise themselves as Blues band but that was less than half of what they performed. Not the best band I have ever seen at Front Range, but decent musicians in the Southern Rock tradition. Their equipment was not sufficient to give them a full sound and it's a small area that you have to fill with sound. They were on their 10th show in 11 days and had to drive from Ogden Utah but hey...that's the job. Bring it or take a day off. They seemed to complete their sound check during the first set despite having set up an hour before they started. Unprofessional at the least.
For whatever reason, Front Range gets lots of touring bands, blue grass, folk & singer-songwriters. Many seem to play at the Telluride Blues and other festivals the week before or after. So you see acts for usually no cover that people just paid $60 to see.
it has been at least 20 years since I have had the honey wings with potato salad when I was stationed there. The best in the world. you guys need to franchise. Posted by Terrance L. Reese.
The best BBQ in the springs! Great food, great prices, and a drive thru. If you haven't tried it yet you need to go.
we went there for breakfast they still have great shakes but after that it went so down hill. first we got our food well most of it missed one whole platte all together and of coarse it had to be one of the kids. then as i cut into the food mine had a great big long hair. so had to send it back.T...hen we got the platte we were missing and guess what ANOTHER HAIR this time black and long.finshed our meal got our check got no adjustment no im sorry nothing. so i spoke with the owner wow i dont know how that place stays open all he can say is it happens and it was more then likely one of yours. mind you all of my family has light colored hair and the hair we found was jet black . he was so rude . so good luck to anyone who eats there
Glad's has the best bbq ribs, chicken, and pecan pie pie I've ever had. Their sides are also very tasty, especially the green beans and mac & cheese. Cornbread is tasty, but too crumbly. We try to go there at least once a month. The owner and his wife are very personable. Two things I'd like to see: discontinuing use of styrofoam plates and cups and plastic cutlery (due to their not degrading in landfills) I prefer eating from real dishes and glasses when I go to a restaurant. Also I'd be happy if they offered unsweet tea as well as their sweet tea. Despite these small glitches, we'll continue to come to Glad's!
This used to be a good place. Did it change owners? Haven't been in a while and decided to stop about a month ago. Wow has it changed! The food isn't at all what it used to be. BBQ is dry and has a bitter taste to it. Thought maybe they just were having an off day. Stopped at the convenience store in Black Forest and didn't know that they had a location there. Not a good sign when you pull up and the guy running the store was outside smokin weed. The store is very dirty and they guy working seemed put out when I ordered. Needless to say it was worse than my last experience. I didn't even get sauce with the BBQ and again the strange bitter taste. Couldn't even finish our food. Won't be goin back unless the original owner comes back.
service was terrible - my guest said I wasted their time!
I will never eat here again. The wait staff is NOT attentive at all, and never got offered refills the whole time. The food was okay, but nothing exciting, especially for the prices they charge. It used to be a better restaurant when it first opened. Don't waste your time or money. And they were out of several things on the menu. Yeah, great way to run your business. Never going back.
The Alligator Bites were inconsistent. They were different sizes (All were very small), some had more breading than others and some were chewy. They were greasy and had a very bland taste. I also got a bowl of the Chicken & Smoked Sausage Gumbo and was shocked that it contained 90% rice & only 10% Gumbo. It only had 5 small pieces of meat in it. Rice was not at all mentioned in the description on their menu (Online or in-store). I was shocked they charged me $5.99 for a bowl of rice! If you have to do this to your Customers than you need to close the restaurant. I felt the product was not worth the money at all and I was deceived. I will NEVER eat at Culpepper's again!!!
Some of the worst BBQ I have ever had and I know my BBQ. The brisket tasted like it was broiled in an over, the ribs were fatty and I'm not sure what the sausage was made from. The side dishes consisted of baked bean ( tasted like they came from a can) and potato salad (absolutely no flavor what so ever. The only good things I have to say was the portions were large and the service was good.
Great Bar-B-Que, Ribs, Brisket and Chicken. Prices are very good. My wife doesn't care for Bar-B-Que, so she has the cat fish and enjoys it. A little chilly if your upstairs with a group in the winter. But even then, the great food makes up for the tempature.
can i write a review about someone else's review?
why go to the BEST seafood restaurant and rave about the burgers & fries?
PULLED PORK IS EXCELLENT. I'm not a fan of their sauces but I always get mine to go and make carolina style mustard sauce at home.
Any bbq place I've ever been to that has really good bbq focuses just on that and the bbq stands on its own, they don't have to have chicken fried steak, catfish, etc. just good, authentic bbq. But this place just isn't that good, ate there once and that was enough, not just because of the food but the prices they're charging.
We enjoyed Firehouse a great deal, especially the brisket. It's worth a try. http://oinkety.com/?p=2112

Best BBQ in town...the real deal
