More than just rude, some of the barristas are downright hostile. They had this one girl who looked like she fell on her father's tackle box. She was always snippy. I stopped going there a long time ago. I prefer to go to Canyon Cafe on 8th and Cheyenne Blvd.
My family and I have really been treated rudely here. We have a disabled daughter who was mocked and made fun of by the barista. My daugther was really upset and started crying. I told the owner and she did nothing. I live next door to this place and I'm disappointed in their behavior. We won't go back again.
Please disregard my poor excuse of a review above. The owner solved the issues that we had and he did it with a much better attitude than I did. Go and enjoy pjs bistro and try the bacon and blue cheese burger, it is excellent.
The server on our Friday night out of October 7th 2011 is a complete jerk that could serve animals better than humans. I say this because his attitude was terrible especially when pointing out that they do no do separate checks! At the end of the meal, which was mediocre at best, he also decided to inform our party of six that separate forms of payment are not allowed as well as separate checks. The server then proceeded to try to rationalize the reasoning behind this with every bs excuse he could come up with including blaming the owner. If the owner would employ individuals that care for the customers and cooks who do not lounge around the bar in their torn up "Blockbuster" shirts then maybe PJ's Bistro would be more than a tourist trap! Also check the date and get with the current forms of payment or go cash only! Also if your going to serve perogies do not turn them into pork enchiladas! If you want a terrible experience head to PJ's.
It was a chilly, rainy night and we poppen into the La Tartine expecting the same wonderful food and service that we had at the La Baguette. The restaurant was lonely with only another couple that looked like they had been waiting for some time to be served. I ordered the quiche, but didn't have a choice of what kind because they were out of the other ingredents. My husband ordered the beef bourguignon and we both ordered the French onion soup, which was billed as "the best in town." While we waited longer than we thought was needed because the restaurant was not busy, the other couple finally got their dishes after about 15 minutes. Ours came about 10 minutes later with service that was clumsey, soup spilled all over the plate. The quiche was the smallest portion I've ever seen and my husbands bourguignon was disgraceful with scimpy portions of beef. We paid much to much for the experience and will never go back or will recommend it to anyone.
It would be awesome if they could hire an actual busperson who would actually clean the tables with disinfectant - I try not to think about when I eat there. Yuk.
My husband and I just had dinner at the Creekview Grill tonight. They food was very good, but the service was lousy! Unless you are there to belly up to the bar and flirt with the bartenders and waitresses, you will get overlooked. Sorry to say, but we will not be back for quite some time. Maybe someone reading this will realize there needs to be better management of the restaurant.
BEST carrot cake and French Dip we've ever had. Tons of mix/match menu options.
If you've ever eaten here, you know how good the food is. And if you never have, you should. The homemade pies are excellent and have won many competitions. They have a new facebook page - like them! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dutch-Kitche…
Thank you for all your wonderful support throughout our 60 year history. I just ran across these comments while inputting our new summer entertainment schedule on our creekside patio area. I am sorry to hear that someone had a bad experience with waitstaff....puzzles me a bit, since our servers are mostly natives of the area and normally have quite happy dispositions. I suspect there may be some personal issue with former waitstaff that no longer work with us. Anyhow, we aim to please in every way, and I will be passing this info along to my floor manager to insure that everyone is treated with respect and kindness. Thanks again to all of you wonderful people who make us possible! The Owner
The lunch is stellar there, the air is cleaner there, the view is incomparable there, and yes, the staff is second to none there. But the breakfast? The breakfast ranks as the best on the mountain. The breakfast burritos, huevos rancheros, or breakfast sandwiches are expertly handcrafted by a staff with a culinary obsession. An obsession that drives the owners and staff to adhere to a strict regimen of quality without losing that small-town feeling that greets you with a genuine smile when you walk through the door. And the quality doesn't stop at 11am with breakfast. Lunch will tantalize your taste buds with sandwiches that are "built" and "crafted" with Boar's Head meats and cheeses and other fresh ingredients and breads, soups and salads that would make a French chef envious. Then there's the fresh baked cakes, pies and pastries - Oh well, there goes your resolve. Joanie's Mountain Gourmet Deli is far above anything in area - in more ways than one! Its the best experience you'll have at more than a mile and a half above sea level!
I've passed the location for years but stopped in last Saturday and we got some tea, a smoothie, and a hummus sandwich. Such a neat, funky little place inside with a cool simulated wood stove, nice couch, and several larger tables for parties of four. Next visit I'll have to get some coffee. Since this is right up the hill from me, I plan to stop by more often now. If you are going to Cheyenne Canyon, stop by. It's right down the street.
Nice sports bar, food is good and the staff is friendly
Wow. Fantastic, friendly service. Great quality meats. My fave sub shop! A lot of sandwich for the price. The type of subs you get in New England are so hard to find anywhere else. I am so happy to have found this place! Highly recommend!
Horrible service if you are non white! Stopped after church while visiting friends in Colorado Springs. Had to open other section to seat our group of 5. Other groups arrived after us, but our group order was the last taken. When our waitress went by, she never stopped to see if beverages needed refill. Food was delivered to all tables around us. When waitress asked another table if they were "fine and in need of anything", I spoke up and said" No things are not fine, we need our food" The reply was "well when it's cooked, I'll get it". Needless to say, we left. No service-no pay-no tips. Don't go there if you are non-white!
"Was" a great place, about 20 years ago. I live and work close here, A value menu beats this.
This is a great little mother/daughter coffee shop. Besides great coffee drinks, they have a wonderful little menu of homebaked goods, soups and sandwiches. This place is especially appreciated after a canyon hike or bike ride.
This place was awful!!! The food was bland, flavorless and may have been out of date. Half the menu was whited out and they had a sign up that said they were unable to get good produce. Yuck! save yourself the trip.
This is one of Colorado Springs' best hidden secrets. I will definitely be coming back. The service was great, the food was great, especially the kim chi, the best I've had in a long time.
We often go to Mimi's for breakfast on Sundays. The breakfast and lunch menus have a wide variety of choices. The food is always good and served well. My partner is gluten intolerant, and Mimi's is helpful in telling her what is available to her. Sit in the room off the entrance if possible, as the room in the back is very noisy. The last time we were there, the server did not keep my coffee filled, thus only 3 stars.
